1. Where can people follow you online, and who are your followers?
Instagram: @brontebeee
2. How long have you been actively using social media to share content?
About 4 years .
3. What led you to begin using social media as a platform and how do your outdoor adventures fit that platform?
At first I got on social media for connection – as a way to keep up with my friends in a passive manner. But as time went on I began using it as more of a resource and a way to pursue connection outside of my immediate circles. That’s still really how I engage with social media. My hope is that my account provides a space to inspire others to engage thoughtfully not only with the internet, but also with nature and one another.
4. What does nature and the outdoors mean to you?
This is the hardest question to answer for some reason. Nature and the outdoors are everything to me. It is where I feel the most at home and the most myself. We are nothing without nature.
5. How do you think social media and other communications can influence a good stewardship of the outdoors?
Social media is an important container for so many conversations and resources these days. I like to think that putting something out there with intention will allow it to be disseminated where it needs to go. This tool has for better or worse become ingrained in our daily life, and if we’re going to be spending so much time on these platforms anyway, we might as well be learning something beneficial in the process.
6. What else do you think you want people to know about you?
I’m an urban planner, and our connection to space and place is just as captivating to me as nature itself.
